M. Gerwing
Architects is a full-service, design-oriented architecture and design
office working in Denver and Boulder, Colorado.
The office is lead by
Mark Gerwing, AIA and individual staff and consultants are engaged on an
as-needed basis. With over 16 years experience, with buildings large
and small, Mark is committed to an intensive process of designing
buildings, not managing and marketing for a large
staff.
Mark has been
practicing architecture in Colorado,
Chicago and Boston for over 16 years. He
received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Kentucky's
College of Architecture and a Master of Architecture, Post-Professional
Option, from Yale University's School of Architecture.
Between
academic degrees, Mark worked in Boston on larger institutional and
commercial projects. After graduate school, he moved to Chicago and
worked initially on large, complex retail and commercial projects and
later on much smaller, design-intensive projects.
In 2000,
Mark moved to Colorado and took
up practice at Arcadea Inc., absorbing the lessons of the environment of the West,
both rural and urban. In 2007, he established M. Gerwing Architects extending his
on-going private practice into a fulltime architecture studio.
Mark
currently lives in
Boulder with his architect/attorney wife
Kate, and daughters Elli and Amelia.
